FamilyEats ("we," "our," or "us") is developed and operated by Sahab Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our FamilyEats mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when using FamilyEats:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Household Data: Household name, invite codes, and member associations
• Recipe Data: Recipes you create including titles, descriptions, ingredients, and quantities
• Meal Plan Data: Your scheduled meals and flexible meal selections
• Custom Ingredients: Any custom ingredients you add to your ingredient bank
• Subscription Information: Purchase history and subscription status (processed through Apple App Store)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the FamilyEats app
• Sync your data across devices and household members
• Generate shopping lists based on your meal plans
• Process your subscription and manage Pro features
• Send important service-related notifications
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
• Analyze usage patterns to improve app functionality

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Authentication: Securely manages your login credentials
• Cloud Firestore: Stores your recipes, meal plans, and household data
• Firebase Security Rules: Ensures users can only access their own household data

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Household Data Sharing

FamilyEats is designed for household collaboration. When you join or create a household:

• All household members can view and edit shared recipes
• Meal plans are visible to all household members
• Shopping lists are synchronized across all members
• Your display name is visible to other household members

You control who joins your household through invite codes. Only share your invite code with people you trust.

Third-Party Services

FamilyEats integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, and analytics
• RevenueCat: Subscription management and in-app purchases
• Apple App Store Payment processing for subscriptions

These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data.

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

FamilyEats offers a Pro subscription with additional features. Subscription purchases are processed through:

• Apple App Store (iOS devices)

We do not directly collect or store your payment information. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google according to their respective privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

FamilyEats is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can delete your data by:

• Leaving a household (removes your association but keeps shared data)
• Deleting a household (removes all recipes, meal plans, and member data - owner only)
• Contacting us to request complete account deletion

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information stored in the app
• Correct inaccurate information through the app settings
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your recipe and meal plan data (contact us for assistance)
• Opt-out of non-essential communications

Guest Mode

FamilyEats offers a Guest Mode for users who want to try the app without creating an account:

• Guest data is stored locally and in our database temporarily
• Guest data is not backed up and will be lost if you sign out
• We recommend creating an account to preserve your data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, through in-app notifications.
